Day 05 - A picture of your favorite memory

OMG Day 5!

When I saw the title a lot of memories flooded that it came to a point that I cannot think of one. But i thought, a lot of memories won’t be made if not for this.

The MacArthur and Jones Bridge in Manila. We usually use this bridge when we walk from CCM (my school) to SM Manila (or the stores at the back of it) to have our school papers photocopied or printed or just to stand by (istambay, haha). I know you’re asking, “why this photo”?

Well, when we walk the probably 2kms distance, we don’t just walk without talking. Oh we talk a lot, and heck yeah did we talk. From who’s-the-new-girl-at-class to can-i-borrow-some-change-to-pay-for-my-photocopies to libre-moko-sa-buyonetakeone-hamburger to babalik-pa-ba-tayo-ng-school to pang-asar-yung-professor-na-yun to aattend-nanaman-ng-pro-GMA-rally and many other things.

Yeah we used to stay to a lot of places back in college, and usually we cross these bridges to get there, usually by walking. So if wasn’t for those bridges we will not be able to say: Tara tamabay na lang tayo sa intarmuros, sa Pagitan ng Lyceum saka Letran (grin). If these bridges have ears, they’d have a list of all my crushes back in college.

Photo reblogged from Unseen Philippines

I had a free day during my first trip in Cebu, so I went out to take some city shots. This is the Queen City’s iconic fountain, Fuente Osmeña, named after the former Cebuano president, I suppose, and is smacked right in the center of the city’s busiest roundabout.

A Badjao sounds off his beats on his makeshift drum. Badjaos are one of the many ethnic groups in Mindanao. Their culture and ways of old remain vulnerable due to nagging poverty and influx of modern opportunities.

Day 04 - A picture of yourself and a family member

This photo was taken during the christening and birthday (cool) of my youngest nephew, Xeon. Poor dad. I wonder what was he thinking when we sat on his thigh. :D

Day 03 - A picture of the cast from your favorite movie

The cast of Tron: Legacy

Its been eternity and at last Day 3 is here.

I really did not think about this. I had watched a lot of movies and for unknown reasons I just can for get the movie’s ending tune/song. So because of that I chose this one. The movie is and eye candy and it has that father-and-son-meets-again-after-a-long-time-storyline theme which is always in a way likable. I haven’t watched the first Tron movie but after watching this I was pretty sure what happened on part one.

It’ll be awesome if there really was “The Grid”

And the ending song plays again on my mind.

DAY 2 - A picture of you and the person you have been closest with the longest

Most of you will say your mom or dad, or maybe a sibling or a bestfriend.

But for me, it will be my aunt.

She practically raised me up since I was just SIX months old. She treated me as if I am her own son and gave me everything I needed. (It’s quite a long story how it happened that I was taken care of my aunt instead of my parents, I’ll save that for later)

She used to work for one of the biggest television networks in the Philippines, times were good at that time, but she had to quit because of the on-going “politics” inside the workplace then. When she went to the US and stayed for more than a decade, she tried her best to sustain my needs even though she is having a hard time getting a steady job.

She was also God’s instrument how I become to know Christ and have a deeper relationship with Him. She told me how she got saved and how important it is to lay it all down to Him, problems, burdens etc.

I also want to think that I got from her what I am doing and love right now:

Writing.
